Fuzhou's famed historic quarter packs three lanes and seven alleys of white-walled, gray-tiled Ming- and Qing-dynasty mansions into one walkable district. Former homes of Lin Zexu, Yan Fu, and Bing Xin now house museums, tea rooms, and lacquerware shops, while Nanhou Street hums with fish-ball stalls and souvenir stands.
