Once a booming merchant hub of northern China, Zhoucun's old commercial street still wears its Qing-dynasty shopfronts. Money changers, silk dealers and snack stalls crowd the flagged lanes, and the old banks turned museums recall the days when Zibo traders financed caravans across the land.
