皖南古村落—西递·宏村
The twin villages of Xidi and Hongcun, UNESCO-listed since 2000, are the crown jewels of Huizhou architecture. Whitewashed Ming- and Qing-era houses with horse-head gables line cobbled lanes; Hongcun's crescent Moon Pond mirrors them at dawn. Few places capture the poetry of old China so completely — arrive early to have the lanes almost to yourself.
