Tianyi Pavilion and Moon Lake

Asia's oldest surviving private library, Tianyi Pavilion has guarded its Ming-dynasty book collection in Ningbo since 1561 — outlasting wars, fires, and dynasties. Next door, Moon Lake's willow-fringed causeways and scholar gardens complete the scene: five centuries of Chinese bibliophile culture wrapped in one of Zhejiang's most graceful historic quarters.
